Exec: Russian Railways to sell telecom operator TTK in 2016
MOSCOW, Apr 17 (PRIME) -- State-owned Russian Railways will sell its telecom unit TransTeleCom (TTK), in which it owns 99.99%, in 2016, but there are no agreements with anyone, the railway giant’s Vice President Valery Reshetnikov told reporters late Thursday.
“No, we are studying the issue; it has a specific procedure…It should be prepared, we have to look for potential buyers,” he said.
TTK operates and services Russia’s largest fiber optic communication network with a length of more than 76,000 kilometers. The network is laid along railways, and has more than 1,000 access nodes in all 85 regions of Russia and connects West Europe with the Asia-Pacific region.
